Marc Chagall - Traum der Liebenden

Through some random surfing on the Internet I found a painting by Marc Chagall (not the displayed picture though.) And I fell in love with the colors, the faces and the motives. As always when I find something interesting I do a Google image search and found more masterpieces by this amazing artist.

His style has such serious playfulness to it. It's impressionism for sure (some works lean towards cubism) but there's also this randomness, a lot like surrealism, that just captivates me. It makes me hungry for more. I can honestly say that this artist's work inspires me. It takes me to a place that I don't want to leave. It opens up this incredible world full of play, love, gloom and surprises.

A lot like Klimt he has used love and couples in several of his paintings. In many of them there is what appears to be a bride. Maybe it's just another trick. Who doesn't love a painting with the theme being, yeah, love. But I must admit that there's a cruel honesty in all this randomness he portraits.

I'd like to ask his artwork to marry me <3

Edit: Perhaps the 'marriage' he keeps on painting is not the one of one physical man and one physical woman. But it is perhaps it's himself marrying.. himself. As weird as it sounds like but this is all very familiar to me. Just think about it. It'll be interesting especially when you start applying it to yourself.

We are more than one thought. Right?
